Now, that my life seems so much more into perspective then it has been, I am pondering all the "new" things I want to accomplish for the new year, and how I am going to go about it. There is so much I WANT to do, and right now I have the abition, motivation, and drive to do anything I put my mind to. I refuse to fall into the trappings of yesterday. (Yesterday being a term of years past, not necessarily one day).
I have three notebooks. Three. A small spiral and two composition books. They are all going to be used in a way that I love! See, I am a list maker. LOVE lists of all kinds, and I am working diligently to adapt all aspects of my life to where I can use my list system to keep me on target throughout the year. I also have a set of 8 notecards. And a new 5 pack of pens! Any writer, and list maker really needs a good set of pens!
Here is what I am doing this week.
1. Making out one little notebook, to be for my tracking of weight/food/exercise/ and any other health related goals. (it will take me into the first 200 days of the year. I am committing myself to tracking for 200 days straight. Mabye not online, but at least on paper for my OWN benefit. )
2. On those 8 notecards, i will be writing out a note to myself, listing where I want to be for the months of February, March, April, May, June, July, August, and September. I am NOT doing October through December however, because by this point I hope to have most of my goals reached for the year, leaving only the last three months to focus on finalizing details. (I will share each one of these as I go throughout the year with you, and I don't plan on opening them until the first of every month.)
3. One of the Composition books, I plan on using for daily to do lists, budgets for the week/month, and any other important things to work on. I love making lists, menus, and all that crazy organazational stuff. I mean I get all giddy and excited! :) I will also use this space to jot down design ideas for our home, since I do plan on redecorating this year. Crafts I would like to complete, even maybe a gift list to tend to during the year.
4. The last composition book I have will be used to track how I am doing in my spiritual life. I will jot down thoughts from the Holy Spirit, scriptures that have been brought to mind, and some hefty prayer requests. Things I want to improve on in my character, that I cannot do alone. Things like that.
Are you doing anything in particular to get ready for a new year? I know that it seems so "passe" to fall into the trappings of "new year's resolutions". I don't see it that way. I see a new year, as I do each day. A new beginning. A new chance to embrace a better life for ourselves. To catch our dreams, to live for a brighter future.
As you enjoy the end of a GREAT year, I pray that you reflect, and dream big for 2010!
