Yep! I said it! I am bringing dinner back to the Dinner table! How about you?
See, for so long, in fact too long to admit, dinner had become a hurry up and eat so we can be done and move on. It was a rush and throw it together, then eat it room temperature because Mom's gotta get to the gym, or it was a quick throw together meal after the gym. NO MORE! My family is worth so much more! I am so looking forward to it too. Nice table linens, a full spread. Home cooked goodness! Happy chatter. Enjoying one another's company. THAT is what I desire. THAT is what I long for. THAT is what is happening at the King house!
I am so looking forward to this change for 2010! I am spending some time today planning dinners for the rest of the month. A menu, a grocery list, cutting coupons, looking at intresting menus. I am EXCITED!! I am glad I love to cook.
What is dinner like at YOUR house? What do you do routinely? Do you have a menu planned? What is the ONE recipe that your entire family drools over?
Oh! I must tell you, that my gym schedule is NOT changing. I do still plan to go daily in the afternoons. Dinner will just be prepared lovingly afterwards. Will it change other routines? Probably. The kids usually go to bed at 7, so they may begin going to bed at 7:30/ 8:00 which is what we do in the summer. In fact, I may have the twins go to bed at 7:30, and allow our daughter who is older to go to bed at 8. We may try this on Sunday, to see how it goes (since we dont' have to rush out the door for school on Monday).
