This is one of the easiest, yet yummiest recipes that I know of. This can be converted and cooked in an oven as well, but as the weather is warming up why not breakout the slow cooker, and save your ktichen from getting hot!
Ingredients2 cans Pork N Beans
6 slices of cooked and crumbled bacon
1/2 cup yellow onion chopped
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 Tbs Ketchup
1 Tbs Yellow Mustard
2 Tsp black pepper
Place all ingredients in the crockpot and stir. Cook on low for about 3 to 4 hours. Stir occasionally. Simple, yummy, good!
If you are baking this in the oven ~ bake in an 375* oven for 45 minutes. You can also make this in the microwave cooking on high for about 10 to 15 minutes. As I said it is very versatile!
PS the measurements of the brown sugar, ketchup, mustard, and pepper are estimated. I don't measure this!! I have been making this recipe since I was in my early teens, so it is one of those "you just know it's right". If you taste it before it is baked, it will not be as flavorful ~ so don't judge! The only thing you want to make sure is that the mustard does NOT over power the rest. If you taste it, and it doesn't have that sweet kick, add a dash of maple syrup as it is cooling.
