Hamburger Gravy & Noodles ©2010 Sheila King |
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef (I used a 50/50 beef/venison)
1 package of Egg Noodles (either Dumplings or the Broad)
2 Brown Gravy seasoning packets
2 cups of water
1 pot of boiling water
Directions
Brown ground beef in a skillet. I season mine with dashes of garlic powder, salt, and pepper as it is browning. (The mixture I use is very lean, so I don't drain mine, but if you are using all beef please take a moment to drain the excess fat.) In your pot of boiling water, boil the noodles for about 7 minutes. In the skillet with your meat, add both seasoning gravy packets AND the 2 cups of water. Allow to cook on medium/ medium high until thickened. Drain noodles and return to pot. Add meat and gravy over noodles. DONE!

Serve this with a side salad and some fresh crusty garlic bread and your family will be singing your praises all day long, at least through dinner. I usually hear "Thank you Mommy! This is my favorite!". Needless to say I earn a few brownie points!
Okay, I am bookmarking this and making in for dinner one evening this week. Yumm!!
ReplyDeleteSheila, We call this dish 'stroganoff' and we eat it about once a week or more. We add 1-2 cans of Cream of Mush Soup (fat free of course) to give it a more 'creamy' taste. We LOVE it!
