Again, I realize that not every household chooses to serve dessert in their home. Please do not judge me for doing it in mine. You can shake your head in private if you must, but any lecture left will not make a difference. I am a firm believer that a healthy lifestyle is NOT only by what you choose to eat, but how you choose to be active as well. The hubby and I do not eat dessert on a daily basis, but it is offered to the kids. They are outside running and playing LOTS at home, if not during the school day as well. I do realize that on usual weeks, we are NOT able to get outside to run and play an abundant amount, but since this week we are home, and I KNOW they are burning off a kazillion calories, I am okay with serving them dessert throughout the week. That is why come summer time you will see it return on a regular basis, other then just on the weekends. During the school year, we eat a lot of fruit for dessert. During the summer (and this week) the kids eat a lot of fruit and veggies through the day. Life is about balance, and I am trying to teach the proper balance to my kids NOW... not later.
