Defeat can be sweet!

Defeat is not always what I like to experience, but I have learned that in times of defeat, I need to look to the sweetness that it can bring. Today over at Our Seven Sisters I shared a sweet tale of defeat. You can hop on over there and find out how my kids got to eat this (see picture below) for breakfast! (Ps. I blog over there on Sundays (Inspirational) and Tuesday (parenting)! The Tuesdays are temporary however, as we have a new member who is in the middle of a move!)

When I share personal trails like this, it always takes me back to my faith, and what gets me through some tough things. Just this morning I was watching Daystar, and began to really ponder how important it is for me to build my relationship with my Heavenly Father. I realize now, that the stronger that relationship is, the more apt I will be to handle the reall hard stuff that may arise.

I am beginning to seek Him in ways that I haven't in a long time. I am not ashamed to admit that. There have been so many times I did what Sheila thought was best, not consulting my husband, or worse, not consulting God.

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.  Psalm 91:1
I want to be able to have THAT kind of rest!

The weather here today is pretty gloomy. Hurricane Alex is well south of us, but we are due some rain from it over the next couple of days. We could definately use the rain, so this really is a blessing. The only iffy thing out of this is, the winds may be bringing some of the oil out of the spill closer to Texas. God is in control though, so I am not sitting here fretting. Enjoy the rest of your day!
