Cranberry Bliss Oatmeal

Okay, before you poke me in my eye, I am using *gasp* one of those instant oatmeal packets. Hey, at least it boasts "Weight Control"! LOL ~ Seriously, I like these packets vs the rest because they indeed have less sugar, and I am one of those crazy oatmeal ladies who likes to add stuff to her oatmeal.

For Christmas this past year, I made a fabulous new to me recipe from Taste of home! How can you go wrong with a "taste of home" recipe? Anyway, being the Starbucks snobby that I am, I LOVE their cranberry bliss bar. I mean adore it. I would like the fingers of the baker because it is that good. Well, THIS RECIPE is wonderful, and I can have them year round. In fact, I froze some, and am taking a sample to a few of my coworkers to try this morning. Knowing that, I didn't want to really indulge in one myself I thought .... wait a minute! And the following recipe for Cranberry Bliss Oatmeal was derived. A warm satisfying way to start a regular Thursday morning. A cold one at that. ICK! Where is Spring?

*Disclaimer: I know it's not Christmas anymore, but I knew that this oatmeal would be pure JOY, and it was! I also use this cup when we have soup ~ because even though it looks huge, it holds about a cup maybe cup and 1/4 at the most!*

1 Packet of Weight Control Maple & Brown Sugar Oatmeal prepared
Chopped pecans
Sprinkle of dried cranberries
Sprinkle of white chocolate chips

Simply make your oatmeal as directed on package (or from scratch if you desire).Top with chopped pecans, cranberries, and white chocolate chips. Heavenly bliss I tell you! Silly to write out a recipe ... but this is more of an "idea" to build on. I have really come to like putting "add in's" into my oatmeal lately. Makes for an interesting and tasty breakfast!
