In HIS Word Wednesday:

“Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” Psalm 37:4 NIV

Sounds easy right? Not always. Sometimes it seems that we do not even look to find delight in the Lord, but instead find delight in things of this world. Now, don't get me wrong. God gave us blessings that He wants us to delight in, but not because "we" could obtain them or created them ~ but instead because we delighted in HIM first!

What do you find delight in?

de·light (d-lt)n.
1. Great pleasure; joy.
2. Something that gives great pleasure or enjoyment.

As much as I love gadgets (both techie type and kitchen), I find that delight is found in simple things. Things like sitting out on the back porch just watching the birds fluttering around, or squirrels rounding up food for the winter. Listening to the laughter of children as they find delight in a ladybug crawling on their hand. The gentle rub of a kitten on your leg to show their appreciation for you. Those things.... cannot be bought! They are definitely gifts from God! We cannot BUY gifts from God, and yet they bring the most delight in our lives. It's time to take delight (finding great pleasure in) in the Lord! Not so that you will get what you "wish" for, but so that you can learn true peace, joy, and unconditional love.
