Needless to say, this week alone God has brought a great lesson to the forefront of my mind, and my heart. And this time, He used my "little" girl. She is 12, going on 20 ya know!
In the past she had always brought burdens to me to pray for her, or with her. It was always "Momma will pray for me?". This past week she had cheer clinics and from the very first part of her first day, she sent me a text on her phone saying "I LOVE it here!". The "here" threw me off, but then I realized she meant the whole cheer environment, and what she was learning/experiencing. I mean after all these clinics were at her school where she is all day! LOL
She began telling me, instead of her usual plea of praying for her or with her that "Momma I HAVE prayed for this! I have prayed for God to help me. Will you pray for me too?" This was a beautiful thing! I did indeed pray for her. I called out to God with every ounce of my being, because I realized this wasn't just about cheer leading. This was a faith builder for her. Sure it was going to cost a lot of money in the long run, BUT.. if it could increase her faith and trust in God just an iota, it was worth it!
She came home on Thursday, relieved that tryouts were over. She would be given a letter at the end of school and was instructed not to open it until she left campus. Well, we decided she would wait until she got home to read it together. I desired to be there in case I needed to soften the blow. We did discuss the afternoon prior that no matter what God has great things in store for the princess and that she needed to always trust God with things in her life. We opened the letter, and ....

she made it! Her faith was not only grown that day, but mine as well! I am going through one of my own "trusting" journey's and this just gave the fire, the fuel, and the faith to continue on the path I am on knowing that God is indeed there for us, and He above anyone/anything else is trustworthy.
5 This is what the LORD says: “Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the LORD. 6 That person will be like a bush in the wastelands; they will not see prosperity when it comes. They will dwell in the parched places of the desert, in a salt land where no one lives. 7 “But blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him. 8 They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.” Jeremiah 17:5-8
