Five Minute Friday: JOY

This weeks word: JOY
Mission: Write for five minutes (no stopping to correct errors) about the week's word.
Why?: Why not!
Where: Lisa-JO Baker's blog

Joy! When I feel joy deep within, life seems not only "doable", but really I feel like nothing can stop me. Things roll off my back, and I don't have time to worry about what someone is thinking. I am not doing things to please people, yet I am serving and doing many things. JOY!! It resonates deep down in places that worry, pain, and hurt can't ever seem to find. Those things may be there, but if we allow JOY to rise ~ they tend to fade.

We live in a world where it seems negative has more influence over the positive. Put someone in a room with five other people. If two are positive, and three are negative ~ most likely that person will be influenced more by the negative then the positive. I am a more positive person than a negative one though I can get in these 'moods'. When I am in that mood it is often from being either weary and tired or .... because I have spent too much time with those who are negative.

Life isn't always perfect, but we have a choice. We can choose to look for the good things, or we can dwell on the not so good things. (Let me tell you something ~ most of the not so good things you can't change if you could.) When I choose to look for the good things ... life is full of JOY.

  1. Loved this post! Your advice to look for the good things in life is so important, it is why I started writing in the first place. I am looking forward to the next time joy makes me feel like I can do anything, and what a fabulous way of describing it!
    Thank you for sharing :)
